Upstairs, downstairs

I have started a new blog it is http://megsdaybyday.blogspot.com/ This blog has been set up to follow my journey on the newest battle in my life, breast cancer. I consider this my upstairs blog, personal stories of a normally funny nature, things like that. Downstairs I will be reporting on my day to day life as a new person with cancer. Sometimes I can't believe I am even typing those words! Feel free to visit downstairs or stay upstairs whichever you are more comfortable with, just keep on commenting, my friends at home and in blog land are the fuel for my fight!

Yeah, I'll bet typing those words are very strange. Surreal.

Oh Meg, my heart & soul goes out to you.
PTfan sent me over here & I came right away, certainly not expecting to be met by those words.

My mum is a breast cancer survivor. There is hope.

It might take time for your words to really sink in.
My troubles pale in light of this.

I am as here for you as I can be - being in cyberspace...

I will send prayers & positive thoughts your way.

All my love
Dale

Hi Meg,

Only just caught up with your blogs. I hope writing them gives you both strength and optimism. Your own attitude and the support of others will be so important in the coming months. I have a dear friend about your age who has recently had massive surgery and chemo for colon cancer, and his positive attitude has kept him both sane and healthy. Your blogs show you've got what it takes!

Sending positive energy galore your way.

Hey Optimistic Cynic! What are you today? Optimisitic or cynical?

: )

Or both, hence your blog name!

I would tell you about my day, but I just kind of wrote a long comment on Dale's blog. You can check it out there if you want. It has to do with Why? Cuz that's what her blog is about today, so I just went with it.

Oh Meg, I am so sorry to read this news. My aunt chose not go for treatment or even tell the family. Keep us informed of your progress. I think the idea of your new blog is a great one.

Hello Meg-
Just wanted to let you know that I am sending positive healing vibes your way.
I worked w/cancer patients for several years (I was an administrator for a holistic health organization).
My dad has non-hodgkins lymphoma and he's going through a tough time w/chemo. Plus on top of that he suffers from major depression.
I've known people who have recovered from cancer through both conventional and unconventional (natural) means - and I would never ever give anyone advice. It all comes down to what YOU believe is right for you (and also the type of cancer).
There is a wonderful book called
Keep Your Breasts - I forget the author now.
I did alot of research on breast cancer and wrote a paper on it. I'm not sure where it is now - I think it's on my computer in the states. If I find it I would share it if you were interested.
If I can help you in any way, let me know.
Take care of yourself,
Sue D.

Meg,
I saw your comment over at Sue's. I am so sorry. My best friend, just fought and won her fight with Breast Cancer. It was a year long process. She has both her breasts and now she is just getting her head back together. It actually just hit her, what she went thru this past year. It is healthy, that you have this blog, as place to sort it all out. I know you are going to be a fighter. I wish you all the best....I am sending positivity your way ;)

Wishing you lots of optimism and courage on the way you have to go. Let me just refer to the wonderful comments about how others have dealt with it. They are enviably inspiring, well I hope you find them inspiring!
Shall we say the motto is 'Keep your breasts'?

Much love,
Koos

Hi Meg, just read about your breast cancer battle. Positive Thinking is key. Our minds are stronger than we think!

I once worked with a man who had cancer in his neck & jaw area. He was given a grim prognosis. However, this courageous guy refused to lose. He was 62 years old at the time.

30 years later & alot of Positive Thinking in between - this man is alive & well into his 90's!!!

Proof that one can win life's battles. You can & will.

Good Luck & THINK POSITIVE!!!

Meg~ I rarely visit/post on other blogs..... I had a bad experience in getting too friendly with a person via the internet, so I am a little gun-shy.....However, I want you to know that I admire your courage and strength a great deal and will keep you in my prayers, Doll!

Much love~
