Meg, I am seriously pissed that your family tried to lay the 'guilt trip' on you. Right, you're a wife and mother and therefore sentenced to selfless service to your family until your death. Sod 'em! Glad you had fun! If your kids and husband didn't care, why should anyone else?

I really admire that!
It's tough when the guilt sets in - imposed by others or yourself, it doesn't matter.
I commend you for taking life by the horns & raising 4 children on your own.
I have an inkling of what single parenthood is like.
I was single with my first child. I went through the whole pregnancy, birth & everything after all on my own. No other family to help, as they lived over 2000 miles away. My Mum came to stay with me during the first few weeks after the baby was born - bless her heart!
It's a tough job, but if I sense anything in you, it's inner strength.
Way to go, Girl!
